Recently I’ve been looking at digital magazines for tablets and have been quite disappointed. They are mostly just the print version scaled down. So I wanted to have a go at creating a really simple New Zealand photography magazine specifically for digital delivery. The idea was to make it as a free PDF – PDF’s are versatile and most devices can handle them. No need for tricky apps. Check out the link to the magazine below…

The 365 day challenge

I started a photo challenge on Flickr.com – every day for 1 year I need to take a photo and add it to my page. I’m 10 days in and it really is proving to be difficult to get something different every day. From looking at other people that have taken the challenge I can see that they all have dramatically increased their photography skills. So hopefully this time next year I will be taking some bad ass photos :)

On the 21st October 2012 I will take my last photo and the epic photography adventure will be over. You can follow the progress on my Flickr 365 page here or view the slideshow below.

Natural Light Shoot

Did a quick shoot today in the style of Australian portrait photographer of the year Sue Bryce who I have been working with lately. She uses only natural light and her results are phenomenal. The photos below are lit using 2 pieces of polystyrene. Nice and easy setup and much more reliable than my flashes.
